About Us

First Safety Institute (FSI), offers specialized safety courses to complement your emergency care training needs. Designed with OSHA standards in mind, FSI provides programs that can be used as stand-alone courses or as part of a comprehensive compliance program to meet safety requirements.

Through HSI Training Centers, ASHI- and MEDIC First AidŽ- Authorized Instructors are eligible for reciprocity that will allow them to teach the course materials and issue successful completion certificates to students. FSI programs will be offered in both classroom and blended learning formats.

Each First Safety Institute program provides a fundamental understanding of each topic and features professionally produced Instructor and student materials that engage, educate, and enable retention:

The Training Programs


Inaugural 2010 programs:

  • Introduction to OSHA:OSHA standards; inspections; rights & responsibilities
  • Portable Fire Extinguishers:Extinguisher basics and use; P.A.S.S.; maintenance & testing
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):Workplace hazards; using PPE; wear and care of PPE
  • Respiratory Protection:Respirator types and usage; user seal check; fit testing
